Local vs global is not ideology, it is a tradeoff between competition and upside. Local can be easier when you know the market, can reach buyers fast, and can replicate city by city like programmatic SEO.
Global has the highest upside, but it is tougher because trust and competition are global. My biggest regret was starting too local in Norway for years and trying to go global later.
If the product and marketing are good, it works globally, so pick the battlefield intentionally. My default today is global first in English, then localize later as a growth hack.
